From career coach [2009]
"I got to work with Mike by attending one of his 3 day
T.R.A.P.S. programs, which was held at Cedar Creek Sporting Clays, in
New Jersey. One can truly see why Mike was the former Chief Instructor
of the National Sporting Clays Association. Not only did you learn a
lot you had fun doing it and walked away knowing you accomplished
something. I'd highly recommend Mike and his program to any level
shooter; there are truly benefits to be had from taking his course.
Also, I look forward to working with Mike again, whenever he's in the
area. Great Results, Personable, Expert"

I was ELATED with Mike's class, it was so informational that I cannot
even begin to tell you how important it was for me.
I shot my first sporting clay round New Year's day and have been
shooting no less than 100 rounds a weeks since. Well, I was concerned
that Mike's class was going to be over my head being such a beginner.
I spoke to Mike and he told me that he was sure he could help me and
although I was still a little apprehensive I signed up and talked my
shooting buddy into signing up with me. Boy was I wrong and
I shouldn't
have worried at all.
He taught us so much it is unbelievable how on Sat afternoon things
just started clicking. Mike explains things differently for each
of us folks
regardless whether they are a D shooter like myself or a A shooter
like another guy in the class. We all were shooting better by
yesterday afternoon. It was obvious we all really were getting what he
was trying to relay to us. Probably the biggest thing that was
impressive to me about Mike was he doesn't force you to shoot his way;
he works with you to make you see other ways to do things and let you
figure out what works best for you. For example, he showed us the
diminishing sustained lead method and previously I had shot everything
as swing through. Friday he had us shoot all methods and then allowed
us to shoot the targets as we saw fit. Well by yesterday I was rarely
using swing through and used the diminishing method for a lot of shots
and was combining methods to break targets. It was incredible!
I honestly think that he cut my learning curve down no less than 6mo
and maybe a full year. It was an absolute pleasure and a definite
highlight of the class to spend 3 days with one of the good guys in
this sport!
Thanks Mike, I had a ball and I know now I can and how to break that
next bird. I look forward to next time! If you want to improve your
game no matter how good or bad you are then you need to seriously look
into one of Mike's classes.

Mike McAlpine was back again with his Target Reading and
Presentation Seminar – he had shooters from Rhode Island, Virginia,
and Ohio as well as Florida this time – it is a testament to how
highly shooters think of Mike that they will travel as far as they did
to take his classes, we were pleased to welcome them all
to Deer Creek.
